Hotels further in the city are much more suited to business travelers and hey are usually less expensive. Darling Harbor is a great choice as it mixes a great view with being right in the hub of the city. Darling Harbor has hundreds of pubs, clubs and restaurants along the water's edge and during summer its as vibrant and alive as the city gets.

If you are looking for something a bit more quite, then its well worth looking into hotels looking out over the Royal Botanic Gardens (right behind the Sydney Opera House). Some of these hotels have incredible vies and includes ocean views out towards The Heads.

If you don't feel like dealing with the hustle and bustle of the city, why not head out to the Northern Beaches. Its only a short ferry ride over to Manly where you can find 2 major hotels on the beach front with a number of smaller boutique hotels and guest houses.
